Xin Yao (Chief Research Administrator) and Ayako Onose (Research Administrator) from the Office of Management and Planning of Osaka University in Japan visited the UCLA campus during the week of Oct. 22, 2018. In addition to meeting with representatives from the Office of Research Adminstration, they met with Michelle Popowitz (Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research & Executive Director for UCLA Grand Challenges) to learn about UCLA’s research approach and structure, and UCLA Grand Challenges – specifically the ideation and implementation process, funding approaches, and how to engage with stakeholders.

UCLA Grand Challenges is excited to add another international university to its growing list of organizations contacting UCLA to understand its approach.
